- A grant aided project will be carried out by the Irish Equine Centre. The project is entitled “Investigation of antibody responses to parasites in horse cohorts in Ireland.” This project is funded by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine under the Equine Technical Support Scheme. - The overarching goal is to investigate the utility of antibody-based diagnostics in understanding the exposure level of Irish equines to parasites and as aid to sustainable parasite control practices.
- The results of the aided project will be published in the month of November 2026 following submission of a final report to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (due 30/10/2026). The results will be available via the Irish Equine Centre website https://irishequinecentre.ie/news
- We additionally intend to publish the results in a peer reviewed publication and a link to the journal article will be provided via the Irish Equine Centre website upon acceptance and publication (2026/2027).
- The results of the aided project will be available at no cost to all undertakings active in the sector or sub-sector concerned.
