Chemical Residues in Samples of Animal Origin

The Forensics, Mass Spectrometry and Residues laboratories at the Irish Equine Centre are INAB approved laboratories for the detection of a range of residues of veterinary medicines and other compounds in samples of animal origin, such as urine, blood and tissue.
The test methods used in these laboratories include the EU 6-plate test for antimicrobial residues, ELISA and LC-MS / MS.
Compounds which may be tested for include:

  • Chloramphenicol 
  • Corticosteroids 
  • Coccidiostats
  • Sedatives 
  • Steroid hormones
