Industry relevant research is crucial to the IEC. The world is filled with data, every day people gather information in different guises. In the scientific world, however, research means something other than simply gathering information. Scientific research is characterised by its careful planning and observing, by its relentless efforts to understand and explain, formulate, test and revise hypotheses and by its commitment to learn from others engaged in research.
